The Victorians

Overview 
 
Join Victorian house keeper Dotty who cleans the homes of the high society in Victorian Britain. With her help discover what is was like for children growing up during the Victorian period, from workhouses to a strict Victorian school. 
 
Key objectives

 

  • To experience being a student in a Victorian school

  • To explore a workhouse and meet the infamous Mr Bumble

  • To learn about the ragged school and the founder Mr Barnardo

  • To develop speaking and listening skills

  • To encourage team work and creativity

  • To recreate scenes from Oliver Twist

  • To have lots of FUN!

 

Our requirements

We can deliver this workshop as a 60 min or 120 min session. We can offer a half day, 3 quarters of a day or a full day of workshops. Go to our Price List for more info. 

Space

 

Ideally a school hall so the children can move around freely, or a large classroom with tables and chairs moved to the side.
